Jaipur: Six Walks to Discover the Old City
This detailed map of the walled city of Jaipur and the old town of Amber, with the itineraries showing places of interest and working craftspeople off the usual beaten track, was initiated by Les Amis de Jaipur, a not-for-profit association set up in 2004 in Paris in support of the work of the Jaipur Virasat Foundation. Working with students from the University of Versailles – Saint Quentin under the direction of Professor Sebastien Gadal, new satellite mapping technology and original software was complemented by the on-the-ground research with the support of the Jaipur Virasat Foundation and photography by Romain Secco of Les Amis de Jaipur. Eicher Maps put all their experience and know how at our disposal to design and publish the resulting document. We hope that it will contribute to a greater appreciation of all that the City of Jaipur has to offer, in line with JVF's efforts to preserve and revitalise its buildings, crafts and traditions. For guided walks of the old city, visiting many of the places featured in this book contact Virasat Journeys

The Performing Arts of Rajasthan: A Handbook
This volume provides an overview of the immense variety and classical genealogy of the performing arts of Rajasthan and Jaipur. Because of its relative isolation, Rajasthan has not been subjected to the inundations of global popular culture to the same degree as other regions of India. It has been able to nurture and sustain traditional culture, all the while assimilating outside cultural forces without detriment to its own cultural inheritance. This volume delves into the myriad traditional musical and other performing arts which exist in Rajasthan and Jaipur.

Performing Arts of Rajasthan was written by Vijay Verma in 2004 to celebrate the Jaipur Heritage International Festival. The book can be purchased at the JVF office.
